The C & C Difference!

Chet and Carmen Snouffer are the founders and owners of The Jungle Gym. Their roots run deep in the Delaware community. Both are Delaware Hayes graduates and began their recreation careers with the Delaware Parks and Recreation Department 28 years ago! After 14 years running the Recreation Gymnastics program and coaching gymnastics at Delaware Hayes, the duo opened C&C School of Gymnastics in Delaware in 1993 to accomodate the overflowing demand for their services and to allow them to expand their high school team offerings.  Soon they had added Buckeye Valley and Olentangy's school teams, along with Delaware Hayes and Willis to their stable of talent all working out together and succeeding individually out of the C&C complex.

After 20 years in gymnastics, Chet and Carmen sold C & C to Ric Voorhies in 1999. Renaming it Gym Xtreme, Ric has continued to grow the gym into one of Central Ohio's largest and recently moved the gym to Orange Road near Lewis Center. We're proud to say Ric retained our entire staff when he bought the gym and they are still there today, reflecting the quality of personnel we train and develop! After taking a break to raise their own children, Cody, Lydia and Lysandra, Chet and Carmen are now back with a new concept for fun and fitness to meet the needs of the entire Delaware County and surrounding area!

Chet's degree is in physical education and Carmen has served as coach, business partner and as a high-ranking gymnastics official for USA Gymnastics in Ohio. Chet has spent the better part of the last 20 years competing for the USA and winning world and national titles in the sport of boomerang throwing. His experiences as a motivational speaker to youth and corporations alike are now ready to be channeled daily into the curriculum at The Jungle Gym!

They are reknowned for positive, upbeat, enthusiastic coaching. Their teams have won numerous sportsmanship awards and Chet was honored with the Ohio High School Athletic Association's Sportsmanship, Ethics and Integrity Award in 1999. OHSAA honored him further by naming the annual sportsmanship award to deserving seniors after him, which continues to this day.

Whether you are one of their countless former students with children of your own or you are new to the area, you'll find yourself part of an outstanding Delaware tradition when you enroll your child in The Jungle Gym!

We look forward to seeing you in the gym!
